Why Go Thicker? 23 Micron vs 15 Micron
The micron number is the film’s thickness, and thicker means stronger. 15 micron handles light, stable loads. 23 micron is built for heavier, sharper, riskier ones. This wrap is also wider, at 500mm against the 400mm on the 15 micron rolls. That extra width covers more of the pallet per turn, so you wrap faster.
For lighter loads, our 15 micron pallet wrap does that job for less.
Built for Heavier, Sharper, Riskier Loads
Thin film splits on the jobs that matter most. This is the wrap for:
- boxes with sharp edges or corners that cut through thinner film
- tall or uneven stacks that need a firmer hold
- long-haul and export loads that get handled again and again
- heavy goods where a light wrap would just tear
Anything that has to survive a rough trip belongs in 23 micron.
Black for Security, Clear for Visibility
Colour comes down to what you want on show. Black stretch wrap is fully opaque. That black stretch film hides valuable or confidential stock, and shields goods from dust and sunlight in a yard. Clear stretch film lets you see the load and scan barcodes without cutting it open.
Same 23 micron film underneath. Only the colour changes.
Both rolls are 500mm × 250m and self-clinging, so no tape and no residue. Black starts at £12.99, clear at £11.99.
What the Extra Microns Actually Buy You
More microns mean a thicker, tougher film. Here’s what that gets you in practice. The wrap resists punctures and tears far better then thin economy film. It grips the load and stays tight through all the knocks of transit. Thicker film can also need fewer turns per pallet, so a roll goes further on a tough load.
That last bit matters for cost, which is the next section.
Rolls, Packs and Cost per Pallet
Wrap is always cheaper by the case. This comes as single rolls or multi-roll packs, with the price per roll dropping on the bigger packs. Clear starts at £11.99 a roll, black at £12.99. Here’s the bit people miss: thicker film often needs fewer wraps per pallet. So judge it on cost per pallet, not just cost per roll. A case keeps a busy dispatch line going, and daily senders reorder them alot.

23 Micron Pallet Wrap — Common Questions
Do I need 23 micron, or is 15 micron enough?
Go 23 micron for heavy, sharp, or long-haul loads. For light, stable, evenly-stacked pallets, 15 micron is enough and cheaper.
What’s the difference between black and clear wrap?
Black is opaque and hides the load for security. Clear lets you see the goods and scan barcodes. Both are the same 23 micron strength.
Is it hand or machine wrap?
These are hand rolls at 500mm × 250m. Use them by hand, or on a dispenser for a faster, neater wrap.
How many pallets does a roll cover?
It varies with load size, stretch, and overlap. Thicker film often needs fewer turns, so judge by cost per pallet. Buy a case if you wrap daily.
What size and packs do you sell?
Rolls are 500mm × 250m, in black or clear. Buy single rolls or multi-roll packs, with better value per roll on the bigger packs.
