Round Silver Cake Boards

What Silver Cake Boards Are Made Of
Ours are cut from MDF. That’s a dense, pressed board that stays flat and takes a fair bit of weight. At 4mm thick, it holds a light sponge or a heavy fruit cake without bowing. The silver top resists grease, so buttercream and oil don’t soak in and stain it.
Every board is wrapped on its own, so it stays clean in the cupboard. Give it a wipe after a cake and it’s ready to use again.
Silver Board or Silver Drum?

What Size Silver Cake Board Do I Need?
Go 2 inches bigger than a sponge cake. For a dense fruit cake, go 3 inches bigger, since it weighs more and needs the support. A 10 inch cake usually sits on a 12 inch board. That’s why the 10 and 12 inch sell the most, and studios reorder them alot.
