Shop Grey Mailing Bags

Sellers shop by size, so that’s how the grid works. Pick the size that fits your product with a little room to spare. We stock small bags for accessories up to big 22×30 inch bags for bulky orders. Every one is grey, opaque, and self-seal.

Grey Mailing Bag Sizes

Here’s a rough guide to what each size holds. Pick the smallest bag your item fits, to keep postage down.

Size (inch)	Best for	Royal Mail band
4.5 x 7	phone cases, jewellery, tiny accessories	Large Letter
12 x 16	t-shirts, folded clothing, A4 orders	Large Letter / Small Parcel
15 x 18	hoodies, knitwear, mid-size orders	Small Parcel
17 x 22	several garments, shoes	Small Parcel
20 x 26	bulky orders, big textiles	Small Parcel
22 x 30	bedding, duvets, jumbo orders	Small Parcel

Bands are a guide only — check current Royal Mail rates before you commit. We list sizes in inches. The 12×16 and 15×18 get ordered alot for clothing.

Save Money on Postage with the Right Size

This is where sellers lose money without knowing. Royal Mail charges by size and weight. Go a few millimetres over a band and the price jumps. A grey mailing bag is soft, so a folded jumper squashes under the Large Letter limit. Rigid boxes can’t do that. The bag itself weighs only about 15 to 20 grams, so it barely adds to the parcel.

For soft, non-fragile goods, a mailing bag usually beats a box on postage and on cost.

Why Sellers Choose Grey Mailing Bags

A few things make these the default for e-commerce:

Opaque grey film — nobody sees the contents, so orders stay private
Waterproof — the poly keeps rain and damp off your parcel in transit
Tear-resistant — they take a beating through sorting offices and vans
Self-seal strip — peel the tape, press it down, sealed in seconds

Grey parcel bags also suit every courier, so Royal Mail, Evri, DPD or Yodel all work fine.

What Are Grey Mailing Bags Made Of?

These are made from recycled polythene, so you’re reusing plastic that already exists. The film is strong and flexible, which is why it resists tears and punctures. One honest note: recycled poly can vary a shade in colour from batch to batch. That’s normal, and it doesn’t affect the strength.

Poly bags go in soft-plastic recycling at most supermarkets. Peel the seal strip off first, then recycle the bag.

For plastic-free or certified compostable options, see our Paper Mailing Bags and Compostable Mailing Bags.

Grey vs Other Mailing Bags — Which Do You Need?

Grey isn’t your only option, so here’s the quick version. It’s the cheapest, strongest all-rounder for most orders. Compostable Mailing Bags are certified eco for green brands. Paper Mailing Bags feel premium and are plastic-free. Clear Mailing Bags show the product off. Coloured Mailing Bags add branding to the unboxing.

Most sellers start with grey, then add a fancier bag for special lines.

Buy Grey Mailing Bags in Bulk

Online shops and fulfilment teams get through these fast. Grey mailing bags come in packs from 10, right up to cases of 1000, 5000, even 100,000. The bigger the pack, the lower the price per bag. A busy clothing seller saves more on a 1000 pack then buying hundreds at a time. Subscription boxes and fulfilment centres tend to order the big cases.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size grey mailing bag do I need?

Pick the smallest bag your item fits with a little room. A 12×16 suits most folded clothing. Go bigger, like 17×22 or 22×30, for bulky or multiple items.

Are grey mailing bags waterproof?

Yes. The polythene film is water-resistant, so rain and damp stay off your parcel in transit.

Are your grey mailing bags recycled?

Yes, they’re made from recycled polythene. You can recycle them again in soft-plastic bins at most supermarkets — peel the seal strip off first.

Which couriers can I use them with?

Any of them. Grey mailing bags work with Royal Mail, Evri, DPD, DHL and Yodel.

Can I buy grey mailing bags in bulk?

Yes. Packs run from 10 bags up to cases of 100,000, cheaper per bag on bigger packs. Call +44 7849 705075 for pricing.

How fast is delivery?

Order before 2 PM on a weekday for same-day dispatch. Most orders arrive in 3 to 5 working days, free over £50.
